Matar Paneer

My parents take only veg foods on Saturdays. My mom cooks all delicious veg dishes and among all of them a dish is there which is the most special. Are you guessing what is it? Yes, it is the very common Matar Paneer. I have learnt the recipe from her. But I feel she is the expert and I am still a learner for this recipe.

Ingredients:

1. Paneer cubes - 200 grams.
2. Potato - 2 pieces, cut in to medium pieces.
3. Green peas - 50 grams.
4. Salt.
5. Turmeric powder.
6. Ginger paste - 1 tablespoon.

7. Red Chilly Powder.
8. Cumin Powder - Half tablespoon.
9. Tomato - 1 piece finely chopped.
10.Garam Masala powder
11.Mustard Oil - 2 tablespoons.

Method:

1. Fry the paneer cubes in a pan and keep it aside.
2. In the same oil put the potatoes & green peas and fry in low flame. After they become little golden add salt, turmeric powder, red chilly powder, ginger paste and the chopped tomatoes. Pour little water and fry in low flame.
3. After the mixture is fried well add water.
4. Add the paneer and cover the pan with lid. Let it get cooked until the potatoes are well cooked.
5. Keep curry as much per requirement and you can also make it dry if you wish.
6. Sprinkle garam masala powder and take the pan out of the gas.

Matar Paneer is ready to serve with Rice/Roti.
